Jeanette Batiste-Harrison


Jeanette has almost 20 years of leadership experience in diverse and dynamic workplaces.​

She’s passionate about helping individuals and organizations reach their full potential. By combining world-class research with practical leadership principles and coaching, she assists clients in making lasting change.

She began as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Malawi in 2003. After completing her service, she took a job with African Parks Conservation, then ASAP Africa. She worked in Malawi for 6 years in varying capacities, focusing on food security for rural, subsistence farmers.

In 2009, she moved to Rochester, New York and joined the region’s food bank, Foodlink. For the next six years, she held varying management and leadership roles there. Ultimately, she became their Co-Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer. She oversaw the sourcing and distribution of over 18 million pounds of food per year to over 500 partner organizations across 10 counties in upstate New York. She left Foodlink in 2015 to join her dad in launching Batiste Leadership.

Jeanette graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a B.S. in Environmental Science and a B.A. in Political Science. She went on to receive her MSc in Evnvironment and Development from the London School of Economics. She proudly completed her 500-hour Yoga Teacher Trainer Certification in 2015 and incorporates mindfulness in her leadership coaching and training.

John Batiste Major General, US Army (Retired)


John graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1974. He served for 31 years in the US Army as an Infantry Officer with deployments in the First Gulf War, Bosnia, Kosovo, and Iraq in 2004. His final position was Commanding General of the 1st Infantry Division (the “Big Red One”) during peace enforcement operations in Kosovo and combat operations in Iraq.

He transitioned to the steel industry in late 2005 and was president of Klein Steel until 2013. Under his leadership, Klein was recognized as one of 10 IndustryWeek Best Plants in North America and a New York State Best Place to Work.

His passion to find a better way to produce armor led him to start a new steel company, Buffalo Armory. Since 2013, the company has 15 granted patents on its unique induction technology and is widely recognized for its ballistic solutions in the markets of body armor, police car door armor, and ballistic barriers for schools, places of worship, and offices.

In 2016, John and his daughter, Jeanette partnered to form Batiste Leadership to assist companies and organizations to define, build, and nurture cultures of trust and empowerment.

John has served on non-profit boards in support of Veterans and is a past executive committee member of the Raffles Insurance Captive and Metals Service Center Institute.

Katelyn Donald


Katelyn Donald believes that with the right mindset and skillset, anyone, anywhere can improve their situation.​

Whether that’s learning how to be an authentic leader, improving management skills, or finding resilience in stressful situations, Katelyn believes transformative growth is possible, and is passionate about helping others get there.

Katelyn has always been fascinated with human behavior and psychology. She holds a BA in Psychology from the University or Rochester and a MSc in Sociology from the London School of Economics. After working in academic research in social psychology, Katelyn moved into organizational psychology. She’s lived and worked in London for five years prior to moving back to New York, and has worked with large multinationals such as Microsoft, Deutsche Bank, AMEX, Starbucks, GSK, Johnson and Johnson, and many more. An interest in working with a startup led Katelyn all the way to Nairobi, Kenya in 2014.

She’s contributed to books, white papers, research papers and many behavioral training solutions. Her learning and development experience includes strategic learning and development planning, learning design, development, delivery, assessment, implementation and evaluation.

Lisa Horn


Lisa Horn has over 20 years of professional experience providing non-profits, academia, and government agencies high-quality research and evaluation services.

After many years working in survey research at Cornell University gathering, analyzing and reporting data, Lisa set off on her own to provide consulting services to the Tompkins County, NY community. In 2009, Lisa became a founding member of Finch Network LLC, a community development consulting firm. At Finch, Lisa was lead investigator on several high impact projects throughout the northeast. In 2012, with a desire to return to an exclusive focus on research and evaluation, Lisa founded Horn Research LLC. Lisa has expertise in the full scope of research and evaluation activities including project management, outcome modeling, methodology design, data collection, data analysis, data management and report writing. She has wide experience in identifying and analyzing secondary data sources, as well as developing and implementing processes for gathering primary data. Her skills include organizing public input through a variety of methodologies including surveys, focus groups, round tables, and interviews. Lisa is adept at gathering, analyzing and synthesizing large data sets and providing comprehensive, understandable reports. Lisa holds a Bachelor’s degree from SUNY-Utica and a graduate degree from Cornell University.
